A grid-tied system is a system that has solar panels and an inverter installed. This system is still connected to the Eskom grid. The benefit of using a Grid Tied system without batteries is that you will reduce your Eskom bill for your day time usage. Using this system will not affect loadshedding at your property. You will still experience loadshedding. This system will pay for itself over 5 to 7 years.
The best of all worlds – This system primarily comprises an Inverter set up with Lithium Ion batteries and solar panels. The batteries in this system are powered firstly by the sun and in the case of low sunshine days, will be powered by the Eskom grid. This system will let you enjoy electricity during load shedding by using the stored up power in the batteries.
This system will comprise an Inverter and battery set up. The Eskom Grid will be used to charge your batteries which will in turn be used to supply electricity during load shedding.
For situations where mains power is not available, or the client wishes to become completely independent of the grid. All power is generated by the solar panels; a battery bank stores excess power for use at night or when the sun is not shining. Because the system is your only source of power, many off-grid systems contain multiple charging sources such as solar, wind and generator.
